Understanding ETAs
OnTrack utilizes various parameters to calculate an estimated time of arrival (ETA) for a given route. These parameters include the driver's available hours, recent breaks taken, and the distance traveled so far.
The ETA that OnTrack displays is the driver's earliest arrival time at that given moment. Of course, circumstances can change, and that's why it's important to keep a constant watch over while shipments are in transit. Because of the volatile nature of transportation, the OnTrack system will frequently update the ETA as the trip progresses.
OnTrack will only display an ETA for shipments that have been loaded and are currently moving. If the driver is at the loading facility but not loaded, then ETA will not be available.
If an ETA is unavailable, the shipment will have a dark blue status bar, as shown below.

In this case, based on the pickup times in the Delivery Details section, the driver is currently at the loading facility but has not left yet.

The ETA will be updated accordingly once the driver leaves the loading facility and begins their trip to the delivery location.
ETA Timing Categories
ETA timing is separated into three different categories.
On-Time
On-Time shipments have an ETA that falls within the customer's delivery window. They will have a green background on the Status bar at the top of the Shipment Details page.
At-Risk
Shipments with an ETA within one hour of the customer's delivery window ending time will be labeled as At-Risk.
For instance, in the example below, the customer's delivery window ends at 3:00 pm EST, and the current ETA is 2:53 pm EST. This allows the recipient to decide whether to keep staff over in case of late delivery or delay the shipment's receipt.
Shipments at risk will be presented with a yellow background on the Status bar at the top of the Shipment Details page.
Late
If a shipment is going to be late (i.e., arriving outside of the customer's delivery window), its Shipment Details page will display a red background on its Status bar.
